Lord-willing, we'll be doing a
big outreach event in the gypsy villages tomorrow, working together with
leaders of other ministries. Hoping to see some lasting fruit and
ongoing opportunities for our church body and for others in ministry
here in Transilvania.
Today's message at the church was the conclusion of Luke 11, in which Jesus had some harsh words for the pharisees and scribes. In them, He gave us some warnings and teachings we need to understand. Listen to it online here.
Some people may be wondering why for the past couple months, my posts to this blog have decreased in frequency. It's partly that we've been busier in ministry work, and partly that I'm now on facebook. On my facebook profile, I've posted many articles, updates, and photos that I would previously have put here on the Missionary's Day blog. If you're missing the more frequent content that used to appear here, you can find more information from us on facebook here.
It can be interesting to see how a 3 year old processes in her own mind the meanings of God's word as it is taught coupled with her life experiences. Last night's Bible story for Briana was the story of Jonah. We had been doing evangelistic ministry with her for children in the parks on the weekend. Tonight, I was with her playing in a neighborhood park. At one point, another child took her toy ball and walked off with it until his mother sent him back. She was upset, but at the time didn't say or do anything. Then a little later, on the way home, she said, "Daddy, I got SOOO angry at what he did. He did a sin. We should give them a tract to tell them about Jesus, so God won't destroy them."
I really appreciated Liviu's message at the church yesterday, because he did a topical study just examining and briefly exposing the beliefs of 20 world religious systems and how they are false ways. It was good, because the people we're reaching and trying to reach also hear regularly from some of the cults he covered, such as "Jehovah's witnesses," mormons, and scientologists, as well as the eastern religions of hinduism and buddhism that proseletyze in this city. It was good also to see members of our church, appropriately laughing at the silly beliefs, when they heard of them, of muslims and hindus and others, in their false teachings about God, the eternal soul, and salvation. Nowhere I've ever ministered before this city was so much of a melting pot of world religions, and I am pleased to be a colaborer with Liviu and work side by side with someone who holds strong to the truths of the word of the living God. Even among true believers, it is not always easy to find courage to stand for the truth in the face of falsehood. Far too many will try to go along to get along with Satanic teachings, and give their followers the impression that all roads lead to God, as long as you're sincere in your belief.

Sing to the Lord, praise His Name; proclaim His salvation day after day. Declare His glory among the nations, His marvelous deeds among all peoples. For great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; He is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the nations are idols, but the Lord made the heavens... Say among the nations, "The Lord reigns." --from Psalm 96
